The West Lyon Chapter of the National Honor Society is an active organization. Students in NHS are selected in the spring of their sophomore and junior years of school based on their cumulative grade point average, and their leadership, citizenship, and character qualities. The selection process is done by a faculty council with input from the whole West Lyon staff. Each semester our NHS students provide babysitting services for West Lyon's parent teacher conferences. Each member is also asked to perform two community service projects throughout the year. Our organization helps with both West Lyon's 7th Grade Orientation and with the Elementary ABC Carnival in August. Many of our students also help tutor elementary students during their study halls. The West Lyon NHS advisors are staff members Kim Mulder and Audrey Halverson. |
